Men Empowerment

A great welcome to everyone! I was born in the 20th century, in the 80s. Humankind has never seen technological advancements at such a rapid pace as we are witnessing today. Both men and women are contributing to this. Educated people and the ones who are aware of the right things to do - have always maintained the balance of men and women being equal. Women were, are and will always be 'equal' to men.
There is a very strong feel and push to empower women today. Our generation has seen the topic of 'Women Empowerment' getting hotter and hotter. Some argue that women do not hold the biggest positions in corporate world, in governments, etc. Some are still of the ancient belief that women are still controlled by men - inside the home and outside the home. While this could be true in bits and pieces in areas where people are not civilized enough, I can positively say that today`s women are neck to neck and even beyond that when compared to men in certain areas.
I wonder what about the men. Have we ever thought of 'men empowerment'? We all have image of an ideal man in our eyes and beliefs. Men are often neglected when it comes to understanding their emotions and psychology. Men are thought to be stubborn, dominating and controlling. Men are believed to be controlling the corporate jobs and highest of the positions in governing a country and legislation. How much of this is true in today`s world though?
How many avenues do men have - to come out and express their issues and traumas they face in life? Have you heard and know of any movements in the past or present where efforts are made to empower a man? Why is that men are taken for granted and no one speaks about 'men empowerment'? Gone are the days when a man was the only bread earner of the family and the woman was asked to take care of home, food and kids. Men have gotten better at household chores and helping out their woman in the kitchen and with kids. World has changed, but certain beliefs have not. I believe we all need to think about our 'men' and possibly 'men empowerment' in the future.
Will leave it here for you to think on this topic. Let me know your thoughts and opinions.
Cheers !

Hi Nehul, it's great to see more people are talking about men empowerment and emotional wellbeing. There are tons of instances in my perception where women aren't equal to men, similarly the reverse is true-albeit in different forms. Sexism and reverse sexism is a natural product of fear and emotional immaturity. Our brains distort, delete and generalises data it receives. It projects the final product into simplified generalised assumptions about the world. An Arab blows up a market; Arabs are terrorists. A black man robs a bank; black people are violent. A woman plays the victim card; women are manipulative/emotionally abusive. A man hits his wife; men are abusive control freaks. In my view this is one side o…
Awesome Nehul! I agree men and women are equal in today’s world. Men are doing equally good for the family but somehow women get more credit for it. Furthermore, men’s emotional well-being has been neglected for centuries and no one cares to talk about it! It is deep in our society. When a young boy child cries, he is told “boys dont cry” and this is so silly argument! Men and women experience same emotions but the way they are told to deal with them is different, crazy!
I loved your post. Keep writing ♥️
